Instructions to enable Java and JavaScript for your browser

To Enable Java in Netscape 3.0:
bulletSelect Options from your menu bar
bulletSelect Network Preferences, then select LANGUAGES.
bullet"Enable Java" and "Enable Javascript" should both be checked.
bulletClick OK.

To Enable Java in Netscape 4.0 (Communicator):
bulletSelect Edit from your menu bar
bulletSelect Preferences, then select Advanced.
bullet"Enable Java" and "Enable Java script" should both be checked.
bulletClick OK.

To enable Java in Internet Explorer 3.x :
bulletSelect View from your menu bar
bulletSelect Options, then select the Security tab.
bulletAt the bottom of the page in the Active Content box, make sure all boxes are checked. (Note: You might also want to click the Safety Level button here and select Medium to prevent warning message interruptions.)

To enable Java in Internet Explorer 4.0:
bulletSelect View from your menu bar
bulletSelect Internet Options, then the Security tab.
bulletFor the Internet Zone, select Custom and click on Settings.
bulletScroll down to the Scripting area of the list.
bulletUnder Scripting, set Active scripting to Enable, and set Scripting of Java applets to Enable.
bulletClick OK to return the Security Settings, then click Apply, and then OK.


Internet Explorer versions 4.0, 4.01 for Windows 95 sometimes have problems popping up new windows.

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.

     

  2. In the Open box, copy and paste the following line:

     

          regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

     

  3. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:

     

          DllRegisterServer in actxprxy.dll succeeded.

     

  4. Click Start, and then click Run.

     

  5. In the Open box, copy and paste the following line:

     

          regsvr32 shdocvw.dll

     

  6. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:

     

          DllRegisterServer in shdocvw.dll succeeded.

     

  7. Shut down and restart your computer.
